LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Assumption High School’s therapy dog, Penny, is known for her unique presence within the school.
While she does not complete homework, is often out of uniform, and doesn’t follow a set class schedule, she is still valued as a role model for all students.
“When she’s in a room, everyone just gravitates toward her with that beautiful smile and the love that she emanates,” Assumption Principal Martha Tedesco said.
Penny has been at Assumption for approximately four years, since teacher Lindsey Peetz adopted her.
Peetz explained that she found Penny through a social media post from The Arrow Fund, a non-profit that rescued the dog in 2020.
“It was not a smiling photo like you see right now. It was these big, sad eyes,” Peetz described. “It drew us in and her story
