Lutz Pfannenstiel is set to hold talks with out-of-contract Aberdeen duo Graeme Shinnie and Dante Polvara in the coming weeks.

The Dons' new sporting director is aware of both the captain and his fellow midfielder's contract situation, with Polvara having recently attracted interest from Premiership rivals Hibs.

And the German has admitted he plans to hold talks with the entire squad individually to get a feeling for them ahead of what looks set to be a quieter than expected January transfer window, writes Record Sport .

Pfannestiel admitted: "Not just those two guys but all the players with contracts running out at the end of the season is a topic for the next few weeks.
