An 8-year-old girl successfully defended her mother by stabbing her grandmother with a kitchen knife during an attack Monday at their Clay County home, the Sheriff’s Office said.
NOTE: News4JAX is not identifying anyone involved, including the accused attacker, because of her close relationship with the victim.
According to investigators, deputies were called around 3 p.m. Monday by the 8-year-old girl’s mother, who could be heard yelling on the 911 call for someone to leave her home.
Deputies responded to the home on Reese Avenue in the Oakleaf area of Clay County and found a blood trail leading from the home to where the attacker had driven off in a car.
