Alex Cuba knows his single Palabras Vacias is more likely to be playing in bar in Bogotá or beachside grill in Barcelona than anywhere in Canada.
The Smithers, B.C.-based singer/songwriter is just happy his music is reaching fans where they live.
With several Juno, Latin Grammy and Grammy Awards to his credit, Cuba has gained a lengthy list of professional admirers as well. Some of today’s biggest Latin music stars contribute to his new album, Índole. Released on Nov. 7, 2025, it is the 11th recording to come out on Cuba’s label Caracol .
Among those artists who turn up on the new album include fellow Latin Grammy winner and Chucho Valdés/Paquito D’Rivera Reunion Sextet percussionist Robert Jr. Vizcaino, Miami pop duo Bacilos and French jazz diva Cyrille Aimée.
