SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — A therapist has been arrested as Sumter County deputies investigate allegations of abuse at a local independent school.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said a therapist with Multidisciplinary Therapy was arrested on Nov. 13 on two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child at Wedgefield University for Kids.
The sheriff's office said video from Oct. 28 reportedly shows Jada Yvette Gibbs aggressively grabbing a juvenile by the upper left arm and the back of the neck in what authorities believe was an attempt to move the child to another location.
An incident report states that the headmistress of the school reported receiving a call about possible child abuse that day, and another witness told deputies that they found dark purple bruising on the child's upper left
