HEBRON, CT (WFSB) - A high school student enrolled at RHAM High School in Hebron was investigated for reported threats made both verbally and over social media, school officials confirmed.

State police were informed of the threats around 1 a.m. on Friday, according to Regional School District 8 superintendent Colin McNamara.

“While the investigation determined the threats were made by the student, the police have deemed the threats as not credible and confirmed that the student does not have access to firearms or any other weapons,” McNamara said in a letter to the school community. “At no point were students or staff at risk.”

McNamara said the district is not taking the threats lightly.
