WASHINGTON — A cat crashed through the windshield of a car in North Carolina Wednesday after being dropped from the sky by an eagle, according to a driver.
The unusual traffic incident happened on Highway 74 in Swain County at around 8:17 a.m. Wednesday, North Carolina State Highway Patrol officials said, adding that few details about the crash were available.
The agency confirmed that the driver of the car wasn't injured in the collision. In a 911 call about the incident obtained by WLOS , the driver told dispatchers the cat didn't survive.
It's unclear if the car was stopped or moving at the time of the accident.
"Okay, you may not believe me, but I just had a bald eagle drop a cat through my windshield," the 911 caller said . "It absolutely shattered my windshield."
