COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVG) — Convicted sex offenders in Ohio can’t live close to a school, but there’s nothing stopping them from living next door to their victim.
But that could change soon. The Ohio House passed a bill that would prohibit a sex offender from living within 2,000 feet of their victim.
It would also make it illegal to loiter within 1,000 feet of the victim’s home.
The bill passed the House in a nearly unanimous vote Wednesday. It now heads to the Senate.
