With Black college graduates averaging nearly $53,000 in loans for their educational endeavors, there is a need to find ways to increase access to education without crippling and overwhelming debt. Since 2020, the Student Freedom Initiative (SFI) has been singularly focused on providing students attending HBCUs and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) with greater freedom after their educational pursuits by providing loan and grant programs funded by its donors and the community. And now it’s about to take on its biggest fundraising effort yet.
