The Minnesota Attorney General's Office has issued a consumer alert following the abrupt shutdown of home renovations company Minnesota Rusco.
The longtime remodeling firm based in New Hope closed suddenly at the end of October after 70 years in business, a move that AG Keith Ellison says has left "many consumers out thousands of dollars and with unfinished work."
The firm, which was owned by Renovo Home Partners – a Texas-based firm created by a private equity group, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy Nov. 3, and in the filing said it had at least $100 million in debts and just $10 million in assets, with up to 1,000 creditors.
