A man accused of drunkenly setting Cumberland County apartments ablaze earlier this year, with nearly a dozen people inside, pleaded guilty this week to some of the 58 offenses filed against him.
On March 25, New Bloomfield resident William Kurtz set fire to a house that’s divided into apartments on the 1100 block of Second Street in East Pennsboro Township.
Several residents mentioned recent issues with Kurtz and said he is “mentally unwell due to drug usage.”
Kurtz, 46, admitted to setting the house on fire because he was upset with someone who lived there, who he said owed him money. He lived in the Second Street house months before the fire.
