JACKSON — Millsaps College and the University of Mississippi School of Law have launched a new partnership that allows students to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a law degree in six years, which is one year sooner than the traditional path.

The schools signed a memorandum of understanding creating the Pathway to Law School initiative, which includes a 3+3 Accelerated Law Degree Program. The program lets Millsaps students complete required undergraduate coursework, then apply to Ole Miss Law. After students finish their first year of law school, Millsaps will count those credits toward their bachelor’s degree.

Millsaps President Frank Neville said the partnership offers students a faster and more affordable route to a legal career.
