An Orange County eatery has temporarily closed after a fire damaged its building Thursday night, Nov. 20, prompting a response from several departments.
The blaze happened on Thursday night on the third floor of 34 Smith Clove Rd. in Central Valley, which houses Jorge’s Kitchen, a bar and grill that serves burgers, sandwiches, wings, tacos, and more.
In addition to the Woodbury Fire Department, the Mountain Lodge Park and Monroe-Lakeside Fire and Rescue companies, as well as the Highland Mills Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, helped put out the blaze, which was contained by 7:30 p.m.
In a statement posted to social media, the restaurant team said "our hearts are heavy today," but added that everyone is safe. The fire also affected other families in the building, though no injuries were reported.
Jorge’s Kitchen thanked responding agencies — including the Town of Woodbury Police Department, Woodbury Ambulance, and the Woodbury Fire Department — for their rapid response.
Despite the setback, the restaurant assured customers that all catering orders will still be fulfilled. Those with pending orders can either pick up their food at the business’s sister location, Bourbon Street Bar and Grill at 74 Millpond Parkway in Monroe, or request delivery.
