COLUMBIA, S.C. — State health officials are reporting three new measles cases linked to the ongoing Upstate outbreak, bringing the total number of related cases in South Carolina to 52. The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) says 55 cases have been reported statewide this year.
According to DPH, two of the newly confirmed cases are household contacts of known infections. The third involves an individual with no known exposure source, signaling additional unknown community transmission.
As part of its latest contact tracing, DPH reports 137 people are now in quarantine and one person is in isolation. Of those in quarantine, 57 are associated with Lyman Elementary, 55 with Boiling Springs Middle School, and one with D.R. Hill Middle School. Faculty, staff, students, and paren
