MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - Bay Port heads home with heartbreak, falling just short in its repeat bid after scoring in the final minute to take the lead in the WIAA Division 1 football championship game, only to give up a kickoff return touchdown to lose 18-15 against Arrowhead.
Pirates running back Brady Moon scored the go-ahead TD, but then a squib kick down the middle found its way on a high hop to Ryan Heiman, who returned it 76 yards to win the game.
The Pirates had just 35 seconds to respond, but quickly drove down to the Arrowhead 11 yard-line with one second left. Bay Port opted to go for a winning touchdown, instead of a field goal to tie, but Matt Stevens threw incomplete.
