PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Four people were taken to the hospital Friday evening after a two-vehicle crash on US 23, in front of the Double Kwik on South Mayo Trail.

Officials say traffic is currently backed up in the southbound lane. Northbound drivers are being rerouted through the Double Kwik parking lot while crews work the scene.

Police tell WYMT that three people in a car and the driver of a truck were injured. All four were taken to Pikeville Medical Center. Officers say none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Witnesses at the scene told WYMT the car pulled out in front of the truck before the collision.

Traffic in the area is expected to be impacted for another 45 minutes. Drivers are asked to use caution and plan for delays.
