FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WNDU) - The clock finally struck midnight on Knox senior quarterback Myles McLaughlin’s Cinderella story.
Knox fell to Fort Wayne Luers 35-0 in the semi-state championship on Friday night, ending Knox’s season and McLaughlin’s quest to become the nation’s all-time leading rusher.
Even though this season didn’t have a fairytale ending, it doesn’t make McLaughlin’s playing career at Knox Community High School any less special.
He broke national records this year for rushing yards and touchdowns in a single season while finishing his career as the nation’s second all-time leading rusher behind current NFL running back Derrick Henry.
“It was a great season; I’ll look at that the rest of my life and be super grateful for it,” McLaughlin said after the game. “It just sucks
