BRAINERD — Winter appears to be on its way to the Brainerd lakes area.
A winter storm watch is in effect for Aitkin, Cass and Crow Wing counties from Tuesday morning, Nov. 25, through Wednesday morning, with 3 to 7 inches of snow possible.
The National Weather Service in Duluth issued the watch Sunday afternoon, noting roads — especially bridges and overpasses — will likely become slick and hazardous and motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes, the weather service reported.
“A corridor of locally higher snowfall amounts are possible somewhere in the watch area. Blustery winds gusting up to 30 mph may result in areas of blowing and drifting snow,” the weather service reported.
