Water rescue at Skidmore results in mild injuries for driver

SARATOGA SPRINGS — An individual visiting Skidmore College drove their car into Haupt Pond on Sunday and was rescued with minor injuries.

Saratoga Springs Fire Department Shift Commander and Captain Jeffrey Alonzo said they were dispatched around 1:51 p.m. and arrived on scene to find about three quarters of the car submerged in the water, the department said. The driver, the lone passenger, was banging against the window and screaming.
