The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office now says a fatal officer-involved shooting Saturday night was related to an underage sex sting operation.

Earlier Sunday, a social media post by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, made in the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 23, said that multiple agencies were involved in an operation in the Guntersville area “when officers and deputies became involved in an officer-involved shooting.”

One suspect died in the incident. That post said that no officers were injured, though a separate update by the Alabama Law Enforcement agency said two officers suffered minor injuries. According to the sheriff’s office post, ALEA is investigating the incident.
