Renowned chef Skye Gyngell has died aged 62. The Australian-born chef, who trained in France before moving to the UK, was best known for her use of local and seasonal ingredients and the Petersham Nurseries Cafe in Richmond, which went on to win a Michelin star.
The Australian-born chef and food writer was known for her seasonal, ingredient-led cooking and her commitment to sustainability.
She opened Spring in Somerset House, London in October 2014, which eliminated single-use plastics and introduced a 'Scratch menu' to use surplus waste produce and raise awareness around the issue of food waste in 2016.
