2Colbert County, AL – A man has received a life sentence for murdering a motel owner during a dispute regarding a room check-in. The owner’s daughter addressed the court, expressing her sorrow and anger toward the defendant.

William Moore was convicted of murder after shooting Pravin Patel three times during the altercation at the Hillcrest Motel in Sheffield. The shooting took place after Moore was told he was trespassing on the property.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, with one individual recalling the sounds as “pow, pow, pow.” Surveillance footage showed the moments leading up to and following the shooting.

Patel attempted to remove Moore from the premises when the situation escalated. Moore fired the shots before fleeing the scene.
