Shore Regional is back on top in Group 1.

Senior forward Jenna Eichenbaum scored on a pair of long-distance shots and Shore held off Verona the rest of the way for a 2-1 victory in the NJSIAA Group 1 state championship game on Sunday night at Franklin High School.

Eichenbaum scored in the 35th minute on a shot from the right side and added a goal from 28 yards out on a free kick in the 52nd minute. Verona scored in the 60th minute on a goal by Emerson Garrett but Shore and freshman goalkeeper Sydney Tilton held off the Hillbillies over a frantic final 20 minutes to bring the state title back to West Long Branch.

The state title is Shore’s sixth in program history and first since 2021.
