ALTAVISTA, Va. (WDBJ) - Two people were injured in a crash involving a car and an overturned tractor trailer Sunday, November 23, according to Altavista Fire Company.

Firefighters responded at 7:20 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident on US-29 northbound near Old Devils Step Road. An overturned tractor trailer and heavily damaged sedan were found on scene, according to firefighters.

Virginia State Police are also on scene to investigate the cause of the crash.

The extent of the injuries has not been released.

Firefighters are reminding the public to use caution and expect delays in the area.
