HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities are investigating a crash on the North Beltway 8 that left a Pct. 4 deputy injured on Sunday evening, officials said.

According to deputy constables, a driver crashed into a patrol vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the eastbound main lanes of the North Beltway at Veterans Memorial.

The deputy was inside the vehicle monitoring traffic when the crash occurred and suffered minor injuries, authorities told ABC13.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area, expect delays, and slow down and move over for emergency personnel on the roadway.
