The man shot Sunday night outside a residence in Midway near the Orlando Sanford International Airport has now died, according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office identified the victim as 27-year-old Julian B. Wimberly, Jr. He died Monday morning at the hospital.
Deputies responded to a call reporting the incident just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Detectives said multiple shots were fired outside a residence in the 3700 block of Main Street in Midway.
According to the sheriff's office, two men exchanged words in the front yard of the residence before gunshots were heard.
The suspect fled the scene in a dark gray sedan, according to the sheriff's office. On Monday, the sheriff's office said that detectives were "working strong leads to locate the gunman."
