Two people rescued from an early morning house fire have died, according to the Burleson Fire Department.
Multiple units were called to a house fire in the 600 block of NW Douglas Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Arriving crews observed heavy fire and smoke with flames visible through the roof.
A primary search found no victims, but the department said a secondary search revealed two adults inside the garage.
Both patients were transported in critical condition to a nearby hospital, according to the department.
Nearly 12 hours later, Burleson Fire announced the victims died from their injuries. Their identities have not been released.
“Our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the families, neighbors, and all who have been impacted by this tragic event,” the department said
