CADDO PARISH, La. – November through January are a drag for tourism in Caddo Parish, but they’re rolling out a strategy to fix it.

Tourism officials want to turn MLK weekend into a regional tourism magnet, including a new multi-state choir competition.

The competition is expected to pull choirs and families from across several states.

“Visit Shreveport-Bossier” CEO Stacy Brown says the MLK holiday offers a natural opportunity to consolidate cultural events, attract visitors and stimulate early year economic activity.
