Holy Toledo, Max the dog has a tail-wagging adventure story.
The American bully disappeared nine months ago from the yard of his Toledo home. He was found Nov. 9 wandering in Perry Township here in Stark County.
After scanning for a microchip, the Dog Warden Division of the Stark County Sheriff's Office was able to identify his owner, who recently drove to Canton to collect the 3-year-old family pet,
The Stark County Sheriff's Office announced their reunion on its Facebook page.
Owner Curtis Marshall of Toledo said he does not know how Max made the roughly 160-mile trip from Lucas County.
He suspects the dog was stolen, and perhaps the person who took him moved to Stark County or brought him here for some other reason. He does remember what happened before he went missing.
