The week-ahead forecast for Southeast Michigan starts with mild weather today and even for part of Tuesday. But then comes a dramatic switch, with a plunge into winter-like cold and snow showers.

We’ll see above-normal temperatures for Detroit today and its outlying Southeast Michigan region, with highs nudging into the 50s.

On Tuesday, rain showers are expected to move in. Those are forecast to continue off and on into Wednesday.

A strong cold front will move through Southeast Michigan on Wednesday. Winds could gust up to 45 mph. That’s when we’ll see lake-effect snow showers that could last right through Thanksgiving Day and stick with us into Friday.
