A LABOUR peer has been suspended from the House of Lords for five months after multiple breaches of parliamentary rules.
David Evans, who sits in the upper house as the “Lord Evans of Watford”, was handed the punishment after allegations that he had used a firm run by his son to help facilitate “cash-for-access” style meetings with UK Government ministers.
“It’s great being a Labour peer at the moment because we’ve got our mates who now have senior jobs, which is wonderful,” Evans said in a recording captured by undercover Guardian journalists earlier in 2025.
