Camden High School rolled over Haddonfield 37-18 in the Group 2 state semifinal football game on Friday, Nov. 21.

The win brings Camden one step closer to a feat the Panthers have never achieved — a state championship in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament.

They'll have a chance to win that title on December 3, when they face Newark's Shabazz at Rutgers.

The Panthers lost in the semifinals in 2022 and 2023. Last year, they lost in the sectionals to Point Pleasant Boro.

Central to the Panthers' winning season has been quarterback Ahmad Jones, who transferred from Pleasantville and got onto the field for Camden in the fourth game of the season. Against Haddonfield, Jones completed 16 of 24 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns, scoring one himself in
