NEWARK - A third victim has died from last Saturday's, Nov. 15, mass shooting in Newark that also killed a 21-year-old woman and 10-year-old boy.

Masi Rogers, 19, died on Thursday, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. He was in critical condition at University Hospital following the shooting.

A balloon release in Rogers' memory will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24 at Saint Peters Park, 378 Lyons Ave.

Bashir Muhammad Ptah Akinyele, a member of the Newark Anti-Violence Coalition and a history and Africana studies teacher at Weequahic High School, said that he is “outraged” over the killing of the three young victims.
