NEWARK - Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested 13 people working at Ocean Seafood Depot during a Wednesday raid — making it the second raid on the same seafood business in Newark’s Ironbound this year.
“On Nov. 19, while executing a search warrant as part of a criminal investigation, ICE arrested 13 illegal aliens employed at Ocean Seafood Depot in Newark, New Jersey,” read a statement issued by a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson.
“Worksite enforcement remains a cornerstone of our efforts to protect public safety, national security and economic stability while rescuing individuals who may be victims of labor trafficking or exploitation,” the statement continued.
