A major Derbyshire route is set to close as council officials assess trees in the area for ash dieback disease.

The closure of the A5012 Via Gellia will be in place for four hours on Tuesday (November 25) to allow Derbyshire County Council to carry out the assessments. The council will close the route at 10am on Tuesday between Bonsall and Grangemill.

This is to allow inspections to take place safely, with the trees sitting on private land near the road.

Ash dieback is a fungal disease that affects ash trees, spreading through their branches until eventually the whole tree dies.
