NEWBERRY, N.C. (WBTV) - Two toddlers were shot after finding a loaded gun in a Newberry, South Carolina, home.
Newberry County dispatchers were called around 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, about a child who had been shot and another possibly hurt.
One of the children was shot in the hand and the other in the foot. They were two and three years old, deputies said. One was taken to an area trauma center by EMS, while the other was airlifted to a trauma center. Deputies noted, however, that neither injury appeared to be life-threatening.
Sheriff Lee Foster called the shooting scene “chaotic” and reported several other children were in the home.
Deputies reported the toddlers could have been playing with a gun they found inside the home. An investigation was still underway as of Monday morn
