TYLER, Texas — Junior’s Taqueria was among the businesses celebrated at the 2025 Hispanic Achievers and Business Leaders Awards, just over a year after the passing of co-owner, Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez.
Ramirez was killed on Oct. 11, 2024 when a customer, Scotty Lee Goble, shot him in the restaurant parking lot. After hearing testimony in the trial, Goble was found guilty and later sentenced to 18 years in prison this past August.
On Thursday, accepting the Restaurant of the Year award was an emotional experience for the Ramirez family, who wiped tears away as applause filled the ballroom at the ceremony.
Other award winners from the ceremony include:
Emerging Business of the Year
Los Antojitos by Maria, a fast-growing family oriented Mexican treats and food business
Outstanding Bus
