A small Alabama town will soon open its very first public library.
Construction is underway in the small town of Orrville , which has a population around 150 residents, on its very first public library, according to WAKA. It’s being built right next to its town hall on Highway 22.

The library has been in the works for years, with officials first breaking ground on the project in 2023 after Congresswoman Terri Sewell announced a half-million dollars in federal funding for the project. The Dallas County town is hopeful construction will be finished by March 2026.
