LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville, announced the " Safe Louisville " plan this week in an effort to reduce violent crime.
Part of the plan involves bringing in community organizations that work boots on the ground to curb crime, including Joshua Community Connectors . CEO Kimberly Moore has worked with young adults to address barriers regarding mental health, housing and employment for more than two decades.
"I have my own vicarious trauma where I watch young boys die," Moore said. "You have a conversation with him on a Friday. Friday night, they're dead. You're talking to the mother on Monday; Tuesday night, they're dead. I saw a lot."
She said she supports the new plan and hopes it will lead to change.
