GILBERT, Ariz. — A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his 91-year-old stepfather and injuring his 81-year-old mother at a residence in the East Valley.
Gilbert police reported responding to a 911 call on Nov. 22 after the elderly couple failed to show up for dinner plans. Officers responded to the residence near McQueen and Elliot roads to conduct a welfare check and reported finding Oscar Casdorph, the stepfather, deceased in the home. His wife was critically wounded.
The couple's car was missing and suspicious activity was discovered on Casdorph's bank account, police said.
Officers later learned that 56-year-old Gary Crawford, the woman's son, had been living with the couple. On Nov. 23, Crawford was allegedly found driving the missing vehicle in Glendale.
