NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Animal Care Center (NACC) is calling on the community for urgent foster support as the shelter prepares for a busy holiday season and temporary construction.
Shelter leaders say dog intakes typically rise around Thanksgiving and Christmas. With kennel space tightening — and construction scheduled Dec. 1–15 — the Center is hoping local families can open their homes, even briefly, to relieve stress on the animals and create room for emergencies.
Thanksgiving foster pickups begin Tuesday, Nov. 25, with returns on Saturday, Nov. 29. Extended foster placements are also needed during the first half of December while construction limits kennel capacity.
