SPARTANBURG, S.C. —

Volunteers are frying turkeys Monday at the 19th annual Ellis and Bradley Turkey Fry for Miracle Hill Ministries, aiming to help men, women and children in need.

For the past 19 years, Bill Ellis and Beth Bradley from WSSL 100.5 have held this massive event.

"It's a big deal. It is not a good day to be a turkey," said WSSL 100.5 host Ellis.

Throughout the day, volunteers will fry more than 700 turkeys for Miracle Hill Ministries.

"The joy and excitement that people show up with, it's like I said, it's infectious. And again, one time and you're hooked," said volunteer Melanie Ford.

Ellis and Bradley, along with the volunteers supporting Miracle Hill, are dedicated to ensuring everyone in the Upstate can enjoy a warm, home-cooked meal for the holidays.
