It's been an interesting year in real estate.

October home sales in Central Indiana were up 5% year over year. And while the lower end of the market is rebounding with lower interest rates and growing inventory, the higher end remains competitive.

Here's a look at some of the more expensive homes in the Indianapolis area that came off the market this year. This is not a complete list.

Jim Irsay's Carmel mansion

One of the most prominent homes to hit the market this year was the Carmel mansion of the late Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. Just two months after his death, IndyStar confirmed in July that Irsay's estate was up for sale.
