HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A state audit revealed significant delays in Connecticut’s firearms permit appeals process, with more than 1,200 cases remaining unheard and hearings scheduled through March 2026.
The audit by the Office of Governmental Accountability found that as of March 13, 2024, the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners had 1,203 cases remaining unheard. The backlog included 590 denials and 613 revocations.
