KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Three employees with the Knoxville Fire Department have returned to full duty months after they were pulled from the front line and placed on admin duties when a Knox County death investigator discovered a person was still alive while they responded to a call about a body.
WBIR 10News has been routinely following up with KFD about the status of the employees and the investigation. This is the first action we've received a response about since July.
The three were disciplined for the incident, according to KFD. On Monday, it announced they had returned to duty, but said the Tennessee Department of Health's Office of Emergency Medical Services is still investigating the incident.
