The Coachella Valley Firebirds won the battle but lost the war in Sunday's entertaining game against the rival Calgary Wranglers.

The battle was a memorable fist fight early in the game, that had the Firebirds and the fans at Acrisure Arena roaring when 20-year-old Kaden Hammell outboxed 32-year-old Alex Gallant of the Wranglers. But the Wranglers won the war as the game went to overtime before Calgary emerged with the winning goal and two points in the standings, edging the Firebirds 5-4.
