SULLIVAN’S ISLAND — The Ben Sawyer Bridge is closed to traffic in both directions, according to the Sullivan’s Island Police Department.

Damage to a traffic control arm caused the closure, Police Chief Glenn Meadows said just before 4 p.m. on Nov. 24. He estimated the bridge will be repaired around 6 p.m.

While the bridge is closed, anyone looking to enter or exit Sullivan’s Island is being directed to use the Isle of Palms connector.
