CLEVELAND, Ohio – Expect cold and wind for Thanksgiving on Thursday, and depending on where you live, a helping of snow.
Lake effect snow is expected to develop Wednesday night and intensify Thursday, primarily affecting the snowbelt counties east of Cleveland.
Travelers should monitor forecasts closely, as heavy snow bands are possible.
The National Weather Service has also issued a gale watch for Lake Erie from Wednesday morning through late Thursday night, with winds of 25-35 knots and gusts up to 45 knots expected. Wave heights will build to 11-15 feet by Wednesday evening.
Temperatures will plunge from the 40s and 50s on Wednesday to the low to mid-30s on Thursday. Overnight lows will drop into the low 20s by Thursday night, with wind chill values in the teens.
