Traveling for Thanksgiving? Several major California airports were ranked among the top for being the most on time, and federal data gives more insights into just how well these airports perform when it comes to delays.

SmartAsset, using data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics for July 2025, ranked 75 major airports based on their arriving and departing flights operating on time. The ranking, released earlier in November, found that John Wayne Airport in Orange County ranked third nationwide, only beaten by Honolulu International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport in Florida.

The Orange County airport in Santa Ana had a total on-time rate of 85%, according to SmartAsset. Also ranked in the top 20 for flight on-time performance among major airports were:
