CLEVELAND, Ohio — Kevin Stefanski wasted no time in stating what seemed obvious: that Shedeur Sanders will start Sunday at home against the 49ers after leading the Browns to a 24-10 victory over the Raiders Sunday in his NFL debut.

He did so despite the fact that Dillon Gabriel was cleared from the concussion protocol on Monday.

“Obviously, you know, the No. 1 job of quarterback is to win,” Stefanski said on a video conference Monday. “So excited to get that first win under his belt and then next thing is improvement. And that’s what young players do. Certainly, young quarterbacks do. You get one game better and that’s just from working at it. So that’ll be our focus.”

Stefanski noted that he’s not committing to Sanders beyond the 49ers game, the first of four out of five home games.
